Rebekah Tan

Rebekah Tan

Born in 2006 in Shanghai, Rebekah Yinuo Tan is currently in her second undergraduate year at the Royal College of Music in London, studying with Professor Dmitri Alexeev. During her time so far at College, she has had the privilege of being chosen to participate in a masterclass with Roy Howat and was the winner of the 2025 Watford International Piano Competition and a finalist in the RCM Chappell Medal Piano Prize.
 

Rebekah started piano lessons aged 7, and joined Chetham’s School of Music in 2017, studying with Marta Karbownicka and Helen Krizos from 2019. She gave her first solo recital in 2019 and debuted with orchestra with Prokofiev’s 3rd Piano Concerto in 2022, under the baton of Jonathan Bloxham. 

As an active recitalist across the UK, Rebekah enjoys re-invitations from London venues. Performance highlights include St Martin-in-the-Fields (London), The Bridge (Shanghai), Manchester Cathedral, and the Bridgewater Hall. She has had a range of national and international competition successes, such as being the Gold Hands Prize winner in the 2021 Carls and Sofia Piano Competition. She has also been selected to take part in the 2022 Ettlingen International Piano Competition (Category B), and in 2023, the Schumann Düsseldorf and Junior Hilton Head International Piano Competitions. She was a Junior Drake Calleja Trust Scholar, Junior Hattori Foundation Award holder, and is kindly supported by Talent Unlimited.
 

Rebekah has also had the honour to work with esteemed musicians in masterclasses, including Piotr Paleczny, Matti Raekallio, Stephen Hough, Vanessz Latarache, and Steven Osborne.
